Accounting Technician – Accounts Payable

Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Accounts Payable Technician works with the Chief Accountant, the Finance team and the Warehouse team. They process supplier invoices, from verification to payment, and perform specific month-end and year-end tasks. The Accounts Payable Technician is involved in a variety of projects and will be called upon to take on additional responsibilities within the Finance Department to assist the team during peak periods. They also provide the team with support for various administrative tasks. This job is offered for a temporary period.

RESPONSABILITIES
Manage accounts payable:
- Check invoices against Receiving documents, verify items and enter invoices in the system;
- Reconcile supplier statements and the data in the system;
- Enter and issue payments to suppliers;
- Review the chronological list of accounts payable, identify errors, and make corrections as required;
- Prepare accounts payable information required for the year-end audit;
- Reconcile invoices and account statements for some credit cards;
- Respond to internal client requests, providing support for various tasks;
- Respond to supplier requests.
Provide support during peak periods:
- Assist with corporate accounts payable and Finance team projects;
- Suggest improvements to processes;
- Perform additional tasks to support the team during peak periods;
- Perform all other related administrative duties;
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
- College diploma (DEC) in accounting and management technology, diploma of vocational studies (DEP) in accounting, or equivalent;
- Experience in accounts payable or a similar administrative role is an asset;
- Any other combination of diplomas and/or relevant experience will be considered.
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Knowledge of French, both spoken and written;
- Beginner-level knowledge of English, both spoken and written, sufficient to communicate (less than 10% of the time) with English-speaking employees, suppliers, or partners, as well as with colleagues in Canadian branches;
- Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics GP software (an asset);
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Microsoft environment;
