Informations

The Manager of Innovation and Continuous Improvement reports to the Vice President of Operations. Their role within the company focuses on promoting strategic solutions and innovative processes to improve operational practices and the company’s product portfolio. The Manager must demonstrate leadership and creativity to guide the innovation team in completing its projects. They are responsible for managing the team and the project portfolio, staying informed of market trends, and overseeing quality control activities within the organization to ensure compliance with standards and continuous process improvement.

RESPONSABILITIES

Ensure operational management of the department and supervision of human resources;
Define, plan, and budget the department’s strategic directions and projects;
Monitor and maintain the innovation strategic plan as well as the project and product portfolio;
Select and prioritize the innovation team’s activities based on the committee’s recommendations;
Contribute to the selection and acquisition of equipment or tools that promote productivity and continuous improvement;
Ensure compliance with product and process standards, certifications, and quality requirements;
Foster effective communication with internal and external clients, ensuring a clear understanding of the specific needs of each project;
Ensure the transfer of projects to the relevant internal or external teams;
Attend meetings with partners, collaborators, and the innovation committee;
Supervise the technical office, including management of the PDM/Vault system;
Conduct overall project monitoring, document progress, and report to management;
Perform any other related task required for the smooth functioning of the department.

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

Hold one of the following degrees: a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or an equivalent certification combined with significant experience of more than ten (10) years in the innovation and/or continuous improvement sector.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

Excellent command of both French and English, spoken and written;
Good knowledge of AutoCAD and Inventor software;
Good knowledge and skills with integrated management software (ERP);
Good understanding of continuous improvement processes and quality management;
Knowledge of pumping systems and the mining industry in general is an asset.
