Senior Buyer
Informations
The Senior Buyer reports to the Procurement Director. The selected individual is responsible for implementing purchasing strategies aimed at optimizing costs, quality, and lead times of our suppliers. Responsibilities include planning and managing supplier agreements, negotiations, significant purchases, and constantly seeking to improve policies, procedures, and work instructions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Negotiate and order significant goods and services;
- Update storage parameters (Min-Max, Kanban, etc.);
- Follow orders for critical and significant purchase categories to ensure supply continuity (Castings, external manufacturing, Cables, etc.);
- Coordinate the implementation and monitoring of agreements for MRO and consumables purchase categories (Tenders, committee selection process, negotiations, etc.);
- Negotiate the return of surplus and obsolete stock;
- Produce the reports required for department management (Monthly report, SGS, KPI, monitoring of abnormal delays, etc.);
- Manage and negotiate annual contract prices;
- Act as an expert (super user) on Microsoft GP and Min-Max calculation tool;
- Obtain and disseminate the required information to manage the lifecycle of parts, pumps, and equipment;
- Participate in the qualification of new suppliers;
- Approve "significant" orders;
- Approve inventory requests;
- Implement new purchasing department procedures resulting from continuous improvement exercises (participate in the development of policies, procedures, and work instructions, manage change, and implement);
- Supervision, coaching, and development of the Purchasing team;
- Perform any other related tasks associated with the department.
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
Hold a college diploma and/or training in supply management. Have more than five (5) years of experience in the field.
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Good knowledge of supply management software;
- Proficiency in purchasing processes and ERP tools;
- Proficiency in Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook, Access);
- Good negotiation and contract management skills;
- Knowledge of local and international regulations;
- Excellent command of both spoken and written French and English (the person will need to communicate with our suppliers outside Quebec and our Canadian and American subsidiaries).
