Project Manager – Innovation and Continuous Improvement
RESPONSABILITIES
- Be on the lookout for opportunities, ideas, and new technologies that can improve production and propose them to the Innovation Committee;
- Promote strategic solutions and innovative processes to improve practices, work methods, tools, and company products. Participate in the analysis of new product lines and the analysis of repetitive breakdowns;
- Ensure rigorous follow-up on timelines when projects have been authorized;
- Plan materials and specific purchases for the various projects and monitor their progress;
- Ensure the design of tool plans, pump prototypes, or any other drawings required to design projects (2D);
- Ensure the validation, referencing, and management of plans (Autodesk Vault PRO);
- Proceed with the manufacturing of prototypes (assembly, disassembly, testing, analysis, mechanics, welding, and machining);
- Participate in the improvement of methods and procedures while ensuring quality control;
- Ensure follow-ups after project completion to validate internal customer satisfaction regarding the proposed solution;
- Collaborate in decision-making regarding the procurement or manufacturing of solutions with the Technical Office Manager;
- Plan and implement production changes in collaboration with the Technical Office Manager;
- Ensure effective information transfer to the Director and stakeholders to evaluate the progress of ongoing projects;
- Perform all other related tasks.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Hold one of the following degrees: a Bachelor's in Mechanical, Electromechanical, Chemical, or Mining Engineering, combined with significant experience of five (5) years in the industrial, mechanical, and/or mining field.
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Skills in using AutoCAD and Inventor software;
- Proficiency in French, both oral and written;
- Advanced level knowledge of English (both oral and written) to communicate (about 25% of the time) with English-speaking partners, suppliers, and customers (training, technical support, presentations);
- Membership in the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec is an asset;
- Good knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
