Manager- Information Technology and Digital Development

Under the supervision of the Vice President of Finance and Information Technology, the incumbent is responsible for the strategy, planning, and management of information technology, as well as the deployment of digital initiatives for Groupe Technosub. This new role complements the existing internal resources, which diligently oversee the management of digital projects and technological operations.

SUMMARY

The incumbent will work closely with these teams to strengthen the convergence of actions, structure initiatives, and support the alignment of technologies with the organization's strategic objectives. They will ensure the performance, security, and continuous evolution of systems, while maintaining rigorous technological governance and promoting improvements in business processes.

RESPONSABILITIES

Information Technology

  • Develop and implement an IT strategy aligned with the organization's objectives, focusing on continuity, evolution, and continuous improvement;
  • Ensure the evolution and performance of the technological infrastructure (networks, servers, cybersecurity, cloud computing) in collaboration with internal resources and external partners;
  • Strengthen existing cybersecurity practices and advance them to effectively protect data and systems against internal and external threats;
  • Enhance data governance by building on internal achievements to maximize their value while  managing the risks associated with their use;
  • Maintain active technological monitoring to identify and evaluate relevant innovations that can support the organization's priorities.

Digital Development

  • Contribute, in collaboration with stakeholders, to the definition, planning, and coordination of the overall digital development strategy;
  • Work closely with departments and services to understand their technological needs, support them in their digital projects, and promote best practices in project management;
  • Identify opportunities for process automation and optimization, in partnership with internal teams, and recommend innovative technological solutions tailored to the organization’s needs;
  • Support the development and deployment of business intelligence and automation solutions, while leveraging internal initiatives;
  • Monitor and analyze performance indicators (KPIs) related to digital initiatives to assess their impact and continuously adjust the strategy.

Management

  • Lead, manage, and motivate the IT team by fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and skill development;
  • Assess individual and team performance, providing constructive feedback aimed at continuous improvement and professional growth;
  • Ensure the application and understanding of personnel management policies, in alignment with organizational values.

 TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

  • University degree in computer science, IT management, digital transformation or a related field;
  • Significant experience in managing projects related to digital transformation, information systems or information technologies;
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar position, including at least 5 years as an IT or digital manager.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong expertise in project management, with a focus on on-time delivery and budget adherence;
  • Excellent knowledge of modern technological environments: office tools, document management, data management, cloud services, CRM, ERP;
  • Proficiency in emerging technologies and information systems;
  • Knowledge in programming (ASP, SQL, JavaScript) and database modeling;
  • Good understanding of networking and server management;
  • Mastery of Microsoft 365 suite;
  • Mastery of French, both spoken and written;
  • Intermediate-level knowledge of English (both spoken and written) to communicate (approximately 30 to 40% of the time) with suppliers, English-speaking colleagues, as well as with our Canadian and American subsidiaries.

The incumbent must possess the following qualities:

  • Ability to define and implement a strategic vision over the medium and long term;
  • Skill in making decisions that align technological projects with business objectives;
  • Inspiring leadership capable of guiding and motivating the IT team to achieve organizational goals;
  • Excellent ability to simplify complex technical information for non-technical audiences;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex challenges, respecting technical and organizational constraints;
  • Proven experience in digital transformation and change management;
  • Active monitoring of emerging technologies and industry best practices;
  • Natural ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive large-scale digital projects.

SPECIFIC CONDITIONS OF THE POSITION

  • The position is primarily based at the headquarters in Rouyn-Noranda;
  • Occasional travel within Quebec, elsewhere in Canada, and internationally should be expected.
