Informations
The designer works under the supervision of the Director of Integrated Solutions and collaborates with a team of project managers on assigned projects.
RESPONSABILITIES
- Perform 2D/3D design of mining pumping systems (AG, BOM, etc.);
- Participate in coordinating the fabrication of pumping systems in the workshop;
- Work with finite element analysis (FEA) software;
- Collaborate on the development and design of new solutions;
- Provide support to project managers during the installation and delivery of pumping systems;
- Participate in piping system calculations;
- Perform any other related tasks.
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
Hold relevant training in drafting/design.
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Inventor software;
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (including Vault Office);
- Proficiency in French, both spoken and written;
- Basic knowledge of English, mainly required for interactions representing approximately 10% of the work time. The person must, however, be able to read and understand plans in English, participate in certain meetings, and communicate with English‑speaking clients, suppliers, or site supervisors when necessary.
The person holding this position must possess the following qualities:
- Attention to detail and technical rigor : Ability to produce high‑precision 2D/3D designs, perform reliable analyses, and ensure data accuracy when calculating pumping and piping systems;
- Autonomy and resourcefulness : Ability to carry out assigned tasks effectively, solve design or fabrication issues, and adapt to unforeseen situations;
- Team spirit and collaboration : Ability to work efficiently with project managers to ensure alignment between design, production, and installation;
- Communication skills : Ability to clearly explain technical concepts, relay accurate information, and properly support teams during system installations and project deliveries;
- Organization and priority management : Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and maintain an effective workflow despite changing demands;
- Creativity, initiative, and innovation : Talent for contributing to the development of new technical solutions and the continuous improvement of pumping systems;
- Flexibility and adaptability : Ability to quickly adjust to changing project requirements, workshop realities, or constraints encountered on installation sites.
